The 91ºÚÁÏÍø’s on-campus community radio station, Radio LaB, has been shortlisted for multiple prizes at the Student Radio Association’s (SRA) Amplify Awards.

The 91ºÚÁÏÍø recently opened its doors to local college students as Barnfield College learners took over the airwaves at the on-campus community radio station, Radio LaB.

The 91ºÚÁÏÍø’s on-campus community radio station, Radio LaB, has been granted a five-year extension to its Ofcom broadcasting licence, ensuring the station will continue to serve the local community until at least 2030.

Radio LaB – the 91ºÚÁÏÍø’s community radio station – has won two bronze awards at this year’s Community Radio Awards, recognising student work on two special programmes, including coverage of BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend Luton.

The latest series of the 91ºÚÁÏÍø’s in-house podcast is being released this November with a focus on sports and the utilisation of social media, to inspire emerging content creators through the help of expert guests from the BBC and trending podcasts.

A first year Sports Journalism student from the 91ºÚÁÏÍø is celebrating after being given the opportunity to host a weekly FM radio show covering his beloved Luton Town Football Club.
