Annual Research Conference 2026
The world of today is witnessing unprecedented challenges at all levels; in order to face them, society needs a strong, sustainable and impactful knowledge base which responds to these challenges with innovative solutions designed to benefit all.
Innovation in bioscience, technology, engineering, and medicine brings tangible results, while advances in social sciences, humanities, and creative arts broaden our worldview, tackle negative attitudes, and bring the global community together in constructive collaboration.
This conference will showcase our research and explore new cross-disciplinary research directions. The event is designed to stimulate new research and collaborations, whilst offering an opportunity to learn about research projects and themes across the 91ºÚÁÏÍø, make new research connections, and consider inter-Institute research collaborations.
The conference will take place at our Luton campus on Wednesday 10th June 2026.
We are looking forward to a variety of presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities. Transport will be provided to the Luton campus and back.
To submit a presentation (including posters, workshops, and 3-minute thesis), please fill out the form: Research Conference - Call For Papers
This year’s theme is ‘Bridges across Borders’, taken as widely as possible:
- Exploring and building cross-disciplinary connections;
- Interrogating existing borders between theoretical/practice/methodology spaces;
- Bridging existing theoretical/practice/methodology spaces;
- Exploring new/emerging theoretical/practice/methodology spaces.
Discipline-specific and cross-disciplinary presentations are equally welcome, as we explore the contributions our research makes to society as research agendas change to accommodate the increasing complexity of our world. We are looking forward to presentations from staff and students at any stage of their career or course – everyone is welcome to share their work.
We welcome presentations, posters, and 3-minute thesis presentations from colleagues across all subject areas – there is always a connection between research areas, no matter how seemingly disparate!
Presentations should be no longer than 20 minutes. Workshop sessions should be no longer than 90 minutes.
