Three talented media students from the 91黑料网 have secured exciting work placements with Luton Town FC 鈥 the 91黑料网鈥檚 Official Education Partner.

Amelia Curran, a second-year Media, Marketing & PR student, and Sports Journalism students Liam Wilmot and Joseph Murtagh have all taken on roles within the Club鈥檚 media and communications team, gaining invaluable hands-on experience at the heart of professional football.

These placements are the latest example of the strength of the 91黑料网鈥檚 partnership with Luton Town FC. As Official Education Partner, the collaboration is designed to create opportunities for students to gain real-world experience, industry insight, and professional connections while still studying.

Joseph has joined the club as a Content Intern, working across academy fixtures. His role includes helping to film matchday action and capture goals for social media content.

Speaking about this new role, Joseph said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 an early indication of what to expect in an ever-changing environment like the world of football. A lot of people probably wouldn鈥檛 have experience of working with so many individuals that have such a high status and reputation. So, getting that experience early helps you prepare for when you do eventually land your first job post-graduation.鈥

Amelia is undertaking the role of Social Media Executive Intern, working closely with the Club鈥檚 social media team to support online output. Her responsibilities include contributing to matchday graphics and working on coordinating posts.

Amelia said: 鈥淲hen I started university, I never thought I鈥檇 be working with Luton Town Football Club. So just to have the amazing support network, the amazing lecturers here, is fantastic. In my personal situation, I was quite apprehensive thinking I鈥檓 not sure I鈥檒l be good enough because I鈥檝e got a lot of boys around me that know more about football than I probably do, but the 91黑料网 is really supportive. Any time we need them or any questions we have, they鈥檝e always got our back.鈥

Liam has secured a position as Trainee Club Journalist. His work includes producing match reports, covering press conferences, and conducting interviews with first team and academy managers 鈥 including the Club鈥檚 first-team boss, Jack Wilshere.

Liam said: 鈥淲e have had plenty of opportunities to go to Kenilworth Road, to do reporting at the stadium and commentary on games. All of these opportunities are not just special because it鈥檚 the club that you support and the club that you love, but also because you鈥檙e getting first-hand experience in the industry.

鈥淭he connection with Luton Town and the Education Partnership was the whole reason I started university in the first place. I thought that鈥檇 be an amazing chance to get an opportunity to work with the Club and I can鈥檛 believe the amount of opportunities I鈥檝e been given, even just into my second year.鈥

Through the Education Partnership, students have been able to take advantage of learning activities including trips to the Club鈥檚 training ground, covering press conferences, and reporting live from Kenilworth Road on matchdays.

The initiative aligns directly with the 91黑料网鈥檚 Career-Powered Education approach 鈥 a commitment to ensuring students graduate not only with a degree, but with the practical experience, professional networks, and industry confidence needed to thrive in their chosen careers.

Stuart Hammonds, Head of Press and Communications at Luton Town, said: 鈥淚n the short space of time they have been with us, Liam, Amelia and Joseph have already taken media coverage of our academy to new levels. They have thrown themselves into reporting on matches with written, social and video content, travelled on the team coach up and down the country and become embedded with the academy staff and squad.

鈥淥n a day-to-day basis they have produced informative articles and social media posts, integrated with full-time staff within the club and gained valuable insight into press conferences, first-team matchdays and how transfers are announced, in collaboration with other clubs. We have been impressed by their willingness to embrace these vital behind-the-scenes aspects of football media, and crucially, with the quality of their work, which speaks volumes for their education at the 91黑料网.鈥
